By the beginning of the 20th century, a certain tradition of honoring church and clergymen who celebrated round anniversaries from the day of their ordination had developed in the Russian Empire. The church press also often mentioned such an important event in their lives, which, in essence, reflected the moral tradition of honoring pastors for their many years of work that had formed among the church people. Based on several dozen articles in the magazine “News of the St. Petersburg Diocese” dedicated to one or another anniversary hero, the author of the article presented detailed information about the variety of such notes, and also reconstructed the events of the pastor’s festive day in the Northern capital.
