Бесплатный доступ

The article examines the functioning of precedent phenomena in modern political discourse as a significant tool of speech influence. Based on the concepts of Yu. N. Karaulov, V. V. Krasnykh and D. B. Gudkov, the author analyzes the ways of using precedent statements, texts and situations in the speech practice of politicians. Particular attention is paid to the intertextual nature of precedent phenomena, their ability to actualize the general cultural and nationally significant knowledge of the addressee, as well as to cause certain emotional and value reactions. The study identified the main functions of precedent phenomena in political communication: mobilization, manipulative, image and identification. The material was public speeches, interviews and publications in social networks of domestic and foreign political figures. The results of the analysis show that precedent phenomena not only enhance the expressiveness of the political text, but also contribute to the formation of a given interpretation of political events and positions in the audience.
