The main precedent characteristics of the text of Russian paremies (proverbs, sayings, riddles and omens) as including the notion of a secondary text of paremies, the inner form of paremies which influence the precedent potential of folk aphorisms are studied and revealed. In the article the definition of a precedent text of paremies is given.
