The subject of social psychology: general theoretical aspect

Introduction. Development of the social-psychological theory is important due to its further usage in different spheres of social relations. Materials, Results and Discussion. The author reveals the main stages of social psychology development and different theoretical approaches to comprehension of it subject. Effectiveness of practical application of social psychology is determined by the professional level of its conceptual and instrumental toolkit and by the development of its most important theoretical problems. Conclusions. Social Psychology facilitates effective psychosocial policy and increases the level of specialists’ conflictology and anti-crisis negotiations’ competence to prevent mass incidents and terrorist acts. Social psychological theory also makes it possible to have a different view concerning the nature of modernization of society and reveal its potential.
