Objects of the infantile hygiene of the Hunnu-Syanbian time in the Gorny Altai in the context of cultural relations

The bony urine draining tubes, sumaki, are one of the most ancient means of infant hygiene identified by archaeologists. According to the ethnographic materials, these items are typical of an array of settled and nomadic peoples of Eurasia. However, they are practically unknown in the territory of Southern Siberia among ethnographic items of traditional hygiene. Nevertheless, such objects are discovered by archaeologists in the Sayan-Altai mountainous region, on several settlements, ritual and funerary monuments belonging to the first half of 1000 AD. There were related to wooden mobile cradles. Later such hygienic devices are represented both within archaeological and ethnographic sets, which enables us to register a period of occurrence and disappearance of such cultural tradition in the Sayano-Altai region.
