The article discusses the concept of “Renaissance personality”, in the context of the Silver age of Russian culture. Examines the meaning of the “Russian idea” in different segment of world history. Particular attention is drawn to Berdyaev filling the metaphor of “Renaissance”. Conducted comparative analysis of the Russian spiritual Renaissance of the Italian Renaissance. Explores the idea of the humanists about “universal man”. The interrelation of the processes of life, art, and public and political events that influenced the emergence of exceptional culture of that time in Russia.
