Prerequisites to deviant behavior in penitentiary system employees with different levels of deviantological competence

Statement of the problem. The article actualizes the problem of deviant behavior of employees in the conditions of the penitentiary system that is characterized by the presence of complex psychologically and emotionally tense events and situations. The purpose of the article is to identify the psychological prerequisites for deviant behavior among penitentiary system workers with different levels of deviantological competence. The research methodology consists of analysis and synthesis of research works of foreign and Russian scientists in the field of deviantological competence and personal prerequisites for deviant behavior. Research results. The results are presented of the study of the degree of aggressiveness, propensity to sensation- seeking, propensity to deviant behavior in the workers of the penitentiary system with different levels of deviantological competence. The authors revealed the tendency to increase aggressiveness, the tendency to increase the expression of inclination to sensation-seeking and inclination to deviant behavior in groups under a decrease of a level of deviant competence. Conclusion. The conclusion is that the main psychoprophylactic work to reduce the prerequisites for deviant behavior among employees of the penitentiary system can be formed through increasing deviantological competence.
