Water supply and sanitation enterprises of the Russian Federation on the way of sustainable development

The article is devoted to the issue of the development of enterprises in the water supply and sewerage industry (hereinafter referred to as WSS) in the paradigm of socio-ecological and economic sustainability. The target task of water utilities is to provide high-quality water supply and sanitation services to consumers, which is feasible only if there is a reliable engineering infrastructure, a stable source of drinking water supply, as well as investment sources for the development of centralized systems. All these aspects are combined in Sustainable Development Goal No. 6 "Clean water and sanitation", which emphasizes the need to change the vector of development of WSS enterprises towards balanced sustainable development.
