The representative function of the Russian Federal Bar Association as an element of the corporate self-government principle

The article examines the content of the representative function of the Russian Federal Bar Association. It is indicated that its content in general can be defined as the interaction of the Russian Federal Bar Association with all state authorities and local governments, foreign and international organizations on issues affecting the rights and interests of the advocacy. Based on an analysis of the Russian Constitutional Court practice, the author notes that the Russian Federal Bar Association has only public interest in its activities, part of which is the representation of the interests of advocacy institute. In addition, the Russian Federal Bar Association, as a body of advocacy self-government, «heads» the institute of advocacy and at the same time is not part of the system of state bodies. The author concludes that the representative function of the Russian Federal Bar Association, on the one hand, is an integral part of the corporate self-government principle, and on the other, a guarantee of its implementation.
