The article presents a study of the medical and magical papyri of Ancient Egypt of the XVI-XIII centuries BC on the subject of headache as seen by the ancient Egyptians. The purpose of this study is to analyze the ancient Egyptian ideas about headaches, reflected in the texts of medical and magical papyri: to determine its nature, causes and methods of its treatment. During the study, it was possible to trace some features of the medical and magical practice of an ancient Egyptian healer, identify the medicines that he used to cure a headache, and also make sure that the medicine of Ancient Egypt is a syncretism of magical and medical approaches. At the same time, sources do not give a definite answer to a number of questions. The lack of descriptions of diagnostic procedures does not allow us to reliably reveal the understanding of the nature of the headache by an ancient Egyptian healer.
