Ideas of modern students about the role of the USSR in the victory in the Great Patriotic War: an experience of sociological study

The article is based on the results of the surveys of 2015 and 2020. The authors set the task of determining the volume of basic cognitive knowledge of students of higher education institutions of Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Region about the period of the events of the Great Patriotic War and World War II (the role and image of the state, its institutions, the people in the Victory), value-emotional ideas (judgments, assessments, interpretations) about the Second World War, the significance of the celebration of Victory Day as a special memorable date in the life of the Russian state.
