Preventing Crimes Committed Through Digital Platforms

The article presents the results of a study that made it possible to identify key problems in the prevention of digital crimes, including: the late creation of a modern regulatory framework during the period of rapid digitalization, which leads to gaps in legal regulation; a significant increase in digital crime; insufficient training of law enforcement officials to identify, disclose, investigate and prevent this type of crime. The authors emphasize the need for active involvement of society and business in countering cyber threats and increasing the level of international cooperation, taking into account the transnational nature of digital crime. Summing up, they note that improving citizens’ digital literacy, introducing advanced protection technologies at enterprises, and developing training programs for specialists are important steps in preventive activities. Moreover, attention is focused on an integrated approach to solving the problems of digital crime prevention, including improving legislation, improving professional training of employees and strengthening interaction between the state, business and society.
