The article deals with the peculiarities of emotional burnout of higher school professors associated with the type of thinking, humanities or technical orientation of the courses they teach. It is noted that among the emotional burnout phases there are developing and developed ones. The authors describe the symptoms of the various phases of occupational burnout, the degree of awareness of stressful factors of professional activity and the response to them in each group of respondents in the context of professional and non-professional activities.
