Preliminary geochemical analysis results of the cultural deposits from dvoynaya cavein the GUBS gorge

The paper presents preliminary data of the geochemical analysis of thesample cores selected from the deposits of Dvoynaya Cave located in the North-WestCaucasus piedmont. The cave is a multilayer archaeological site containing Mesolithicand Upper Palaeolithic cultural layers. Analysis of the groups of chemical trace elementsof geological and soil processes identified variations in the values of ratios that reflectvarious degrees of anthropogenic impact at different stages of the cave occupation. Theanalytical data demonstrate that the longest period of the cave occupation and/or intensiveactivities occurred in the very beginning of the cave occupation at the end of the latePleistocene.
