Continuity of achievements of the roman law: historical and theoretical aspects

General problems of western legal traditions reception in the Russian law are investigated in the Article. Issues of the Roman law reception influence on the Russian legal system are singles out and disclosed. The author pays special attention to the review of issues and significance of the Roman law to the modernisation of the Russian legal system.
