Transformation of axiological options of the concept "doctor" in modern Russian linguistic culture

The article is devoted to important and topical issues of transformation of value-parameters of concepts, in particular, the concept ‘doctor’ in the modern linguistic culture. The study is based on such materials as modern literature, magazines, newspapers, proverbs and sayings, reflecting the linguistic picture of the modern Russian language. After observation of the transformation of axiological parameters of the concept “doctor” in modern linguistic culture, the author states that there are two opposite trends: 1) strengthening of positive evaluation, 2) destruction of positive evaluation of this concept. The concept ‘doctor’ includes universal cultural values that form axiology of this lingual-cultural unit. The article also tells about stereotypes and their representation through concepts; for both of them axiological component is significant. By and large, most of people associate a doctor (not a particular one but a generalized image) with positive results -improving health, saving lives.
