Teaching the Church Slavonic language at the present stage (methodological foundations and problems)

The article presents the author’s view on the general methodological foundations of teaching the Church Slavonic language, which is the result of many years of work in higher theological educational institutions, which invariably brings joy and professional satisfaction. Among other things, the importance of the wide use of the comparative-historical method in teaching the liturgical language, which should finally take its rightful place in the scientific and educational and pedagogical contexts, the formation of sustainable motivation and interest in its assimilation, the need to develop systemic educational and methodological complexes, including introduction of distance learning technologies.
