A new digital imaging can open new possibility to receive fusion images from MRI and ultrasound. It provide possibility of using fussion ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging for targeted prostate biopsy. World wide accumulated experience in performing this diagnostic procedure evidences about advantages of this technology: a greater percentage of the definition of clinically significant cancer; detection of abnormally located focus (not in the peripheral zone); good results in patients with a large prostate volume (≥40 см3); careful selection of patients for focal therapy. MRI fusion targeted biopsy is a promising technology to improve the quality of diagnosis prostate cancer.
