The article is devoted to the analysis of the reasons for the successful penetration of Orthodoxy into the consciousness and lifestyle of the indigenous peoples of Alaska. To identify the causes of the susceptibility of the autochthonous population of Alaska to Russian spiritual culture, we analyzed the characteristics of the spiritual culture of the natives of Russian America and their mentality. The article also examines the nature of the commercial development of the region and Russian missionary work, the unique qualities of the Russian missionary feat and its influence on the formation of Orthodoxy on the American continent.
