Causes of social tension in locations located in the borders of national parks and measures taken to reduce it

The article deals with the urgent problem of the rise of social conflicts over the status of the settlements included in the territory of special protected natural areas, in particular, national parks, in different years and decades. The key reason for the emergence of conflicts lies in the provisions of the current Russian legislation, which infringe on the rights and interests of citizens living in the territories of national parks. It should be noted that in recent years, initiatives that provide for amendments to the current legislation of the Russian Federation, including the secession of settlements from the national parks and other specially protected natural areas have been repeatedly discussed at multiple levels. However, the efforts aimed at improving the legislation on special protected natural areas has not been completed, and therefore the considered problem remains relevant today.
