The article is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of library confessions of students of Higher library courses of the Russian state library. The article discusses the reasons for non-specialists choosing the library profession, since library work in the country is carried out mainly by non-professionals, i.e. specialists from other fields of work. The Appendix to the article contains essays by students Of higher library courses of the RSE on their way to the library profession.
