Subordinate clause with unreal comparative semantics as a sign of background plan in a narrative text (based on the novel by Franz Kafka "The Castle”)

The article is devoted to investigation of the foreground and background plan in narrative text in which clauses with unreal comparative semantics appear as special syntactic structures reflecting the background of the narrative plan. The semantic and pragmatic property of such clauses allows us to interpret them as a signs of narrative text influencing the perception of the text as a whole.
