The use of the ABC / VEN - analysis to improve the quality management of procurement

The stocks of medicines in hospitals are among the items that are of exceptional importance for the medical care and require significant investment. In practice, however, they do not give due attention to improving the quality of drug supply and distribution of financial resources ^ for procurement of drugs. The article discusses the methodology of ABC/VEN analysis in a medical organization of the Republic of Buryatia AHI «Republican Dental Clinic», which allows effective management of drug supply and rational use of financial resources of the organization. The medicines used in therapeutic stomatology are analyzed and distributed on cost intensity degree (ABC analysis) and degrees of importance (VEN analysis). Analyzing the estimates of expenses structure, the authors revealed signs of irrational use of medicines. After corrective action ABC/VEN analysis was repeated, this showed the effectiveness of this method for monitoring the rationality of spending of medical organization AHI «Republican Dental Clinic».
