Not so long ago, the dental neck area correction required the use of the surgical scalpels and electro-coagulators unable to provide formation of the clearly defined proper emergence profile. To solve this problem, modern dentistry uses large number of various lasers that open up new possibilities for treatment of different diseases and offer wide array of the minimally invasive and, in fact, painless procedures that comply with high clinical standards of dental health care. The technologies of the soft tissue exposure to laser radiation can improve surgical treatment techniques in patients with the diseases of mucous tunic of the mouth and periodontium which, in general, characterizes this method as highly effective for treatment of many dental disorders. In some cases, this laser may be used in esthetic dentistry for correction of the emergence profile before prosthodontic treatment to achieve the best highly-esthetical clinical results. Clinical observations for condition of the interdental gingiva were carried out in 12 patients after the use of diode laser apparatus, Ezlase, before the prosthodontic treatment. Our data showed clinical efficacy of the laser treatment resulting in the highly esthetical results in the cases when the gingival contour height and emergence profile shape were disordered in the neck area of the dental crowns. Due to the fact that nearly all modern types of denture treatment with permanent structures require the emergence profile correction, the proposed method of laser surgery may become an essential step of the prosthodontic treatment in patients with defects in dentine and tooth alignment.
