The article presents the results of cluster analysis of chickpea collection samples according to a complex of selection-significant traits. The experiments were laid on the fields of the training and experimental farm of the Omsk State Agrarian University in the southern forest-steppe of the Omsk region in 2018-2021. The object for the study was 40 chickpea samples from the collection of the Federal Research Center of the N.I. Vavilov All-Russian Institute of Plant Genetic Resources (VIR, St. Petersburg) and collections of somaclones of the Siberian Research Institute of Feeds (Novosibirsk). As a result of the research, sources of economically valuable traits of chickpea for breeding in the conditions of the southern forest-steppe of Western Siberia were identified. The use of cluster analysis by 10 features made it possible to divide the studied collection samples by the Euclidean distances method into 5 clusters with different breeding values. The most promising in practical and breeding terms should be considered samples belonging to the 4th cluster, Kabuli morphotype (C2-Krasnokutsky 123), Privo 1 (k-3484), Volgogradsky 10 (k-2197), ILC-2402 (k-3276), C-303 (k-3832), ILC-482 (k-3062), which have the maximum expression of valuable breeding traits and a shortened ripening period. Samples of the 2nd and 5th clusters can be used as sources of individual breeding traits.
