The article discusses the changes in preschool education after the transition to the GEF. Stressed that the implementation of the new system of teaching and education in preschool education, it is important not to forget about the child's personality, about his interests and special needs. The child's development and learning should be carried out through this age appropriate activities. In this regard, the article takes into account the characteristics of children of senior preschool age, especially the development of thinking. With the features of the FSES of pre-school education and characteristics of children of senior preschool age the article describes the possibility of realization of the competence approach for the development of logical thinking of children of senior preschool age.
