The article reveals the importance and the necessity of marketing researches for quality improvement of education in the higher school. Marketing is regarded as a constituent of educational quality, tendencies of demand in the labour and applicants9 markets are observed. Possibilities of using the results of marketing research as the basis for planning the assortment of educational programs in the higher school, grading of the abundance and deficit problems of labour market are illustrated, the functions of marketing service of the university are developed.
