New ferrocene-based forage additives for reducing 137Cs content in cow milk

Бесплатный доступ

The purpose of the study was to test efficacy of new formulations of forage additives containing hexacyanoferrate (II), potassium, iron (III) (Milori blue) to reduce transfer of 137Cs to milk and meat as compared with the sorbent “Bifezh”. Impact of the additives on productivity of dairy cows and milk quality was studied as well. The tests were carried out in the agricultural complex Rabochiy located in Gordeevskiy rayon of the Bryansk oblast. New formulations of forage additives containing Milori blue reduced 137Cs content in cow milk by 2-4 times on the 15 th day and up to 5 times on the 30 th day as compared with control. Other indicators of milk quality except for fat content did not change. Increase in fat content of milk both in a group under study and a control group was caused by reduction of milk cow productivity at the end of lactation period.
