Application of forced measures of medical character to deranged individuals

This paper discusses the criteria for insanity, in the presence of which a person is exempted from criminal liability. The statistics of the judicial department at the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on the number of cases under consideration with the use of compulsory medical measures to insane persons, as well as the number of persons to whom such measures were applied. The problem of the distinction of persons who committed a socially dangerous act, on the basis of insanity, is affected.
