The paper provides an overview of foreign and Russian software products of technological modeling. They are used in the tasks of design, reconstruction, management of oil preparation and refining processes. Examples of modeling the process of oil stabilization are given in order to minimize energy costs and maximize the selection of a wide fraction of light hydrocarbons. A limitation in solving optimization problems is the quality indicators of a wide fraction of light hydrocarbons. The stages of the work and the results obtained are shown. The simulation was performed in the Chemcad and Petro-Sim software packages.
