The introduction of distance technologies into the educational process of Russian universities has led to a number of problems. It is especially difficult to adapt their application in educational programs related to creative specialties, such as design and fine arts, where the basic academic disciplines are "Academic drawing" and "Academic painting". The aim of the study is to study technically new ways of communication between a teacher and a student in the distance teaching format of art cycle disciplines, in which effective learning requires direct personal contact between the teacher and the student, while the distance format requires students to have very strong motivation and the ability to self-organize. The development of information technologies and trends associated with the use of alternative ways of interaction between participants in the educational process should determine relevant and effective methods of work that go beyond the traditional full-time model of education. The article discusses modern ways to improve the quality of organization and conduct of distance learning as part of a possible transition to a mixed form of the educational process of the future. Materials and research methods are: - study and analysis of scientific, educational-methodical and special literature on the problem of distance learning; - methods of empirical research and generalization of the practice of conducting remote classes in the disciplines of general professional training of the higher school of design RSUTS; - analysis of the results of the work of students; survey of teachers.
