Through the theoretical analysis of the equality principle which has been concretized within the anti-discriminatory right in modern legal systems, the author pays attention to the Convention on elimination of all forms of discrimination towards women from 1979. The women's right to the equal treatment is one of the most important achievements of modern countries. It is also one of priorities when we are talking about joining of our country into normal world streams. In the course of this paper work there is given a detailed analysis of the history of the beginnings and the content of the Convention as well as the procedure of controlling of the application of the Convention in member countries.
