The principle of division of powers: the idea and the reality

The article considers the theoretical ideas about the principle of separation of powers in the Western and Russian political thought, as well as the practice of the realization of this principle in the political systems of Western countries and Russia. Special attention is paid to the peculiarities of the Russian political culture and its influence on the practice of realization of the principle of separation of powers.
