The article considers the Jewish apocryphal image of afterlife as a reflection of esoteric and mystical ratio by negating existing Old Testament and New Testament traditions of that time. It is shown, that the Apocrypha, and later the Talmud established the principle of ternary as a fundamental type of thinking, in which social stratification and, consequently, posthumous ontology were altering: in contrast to the binary differentiation of "righteous person" - "sinner" there came the median element of "neither righteous, nor sinner", that became the key element of the self-identity process.
