The article deals with the problem of the content of education that is acutely relevant today. A brief analysis of the progressive nature of the principle of identity of dialectics, logic and theory of knowledge discovered by Hegel is given. The author focuses on the idealistic platform of this principle and substantiates the expediency of its application as an initial methodological position in the modern educational process. The work is written at the intersection of philosophy and pedagogy.
