Abstracts. This article considers the reasons and preconditions of such economic concepts as the "principle of managing for results." The basic theory related to the emergence of the concept of management by objectives in companies. Examines the basic tenets of these theories and the conclusion about the effectiveness of their application in practice. Outline the main basic principles of the system of performance management, among which we should highlight the need for consideration of the dynamism and relevance of the set objectives, as well as the possibility of their flexible operational adjustments and changes; the ability of the Manager to make decisions on the basis of common interests of the organization.
