The basic principles of the prevention and control of the environmental media pollution in the environmental law of Republic of Serbia

Today environmental protection is one of the most important dimensions of legal regulation. The basis of environmental protection is made of principles being included in numerous international and regional legal instruments. First, the paper concentrates on the explanation of the term principle. Furthermore, it is made the presentation of certain principles being included in the legislation of Republic of Serbia and on which the prevention and control of the environmental pollution are based. It is also pointed out to certain shortcomings of legal solutions in this area, as well as the necessity of their removal.
