The article analyzes the principles and mechanisms of coordinating international relations of Russian regions. Russia as a federal state gives its regions the right to engage into international relations within its competence. To implement these powers, the Russian Federation has concluded the necessary international agreements with international organizations for regional cooperation. Regions of Russia have the right to enter into international relations with coordinating this activity from the federal center. Coordination of international relations of Russian regions has several levels. They are constitutional ones, on the base of federal laws, on the base of legal acts of the president and the government of the Russian Federation and are implemented according the principles of power delimitation, the unity of foreign policy, alignment of interests and transparency in the conclusion of international treaties and agreements.
