The article describes a method for constructing an expert system in the study of the technogenic safety of electrical installations with the development of a software product for solving complex non-formalized tasks.The expert system performs the functions of an expert (person), reproducing his opinion or is an assistant to the person making a decision in a certain area of knowledge.Based on the main stages of the expert system functioning, its generalized structure was formed for analyzing the state of fire safety during the operation of electrical installations in agricultural enterprises.When choosing a design model of the instrumental environment and tools, the requirements for an expert system for diagnosing fire danger of electrical installations are defined.The development of an expert system is carried out when building and testing a prototype.The prototype solves problems with the choice of the space category and a reliable knowledge base with the predominance of the advantages of the expert system in comparison with the human expert.
