The forensic technique is subject to a unified system of principles considered by the authors from the perspective of a private technique of compensation for harm caused by a crime. Like any ordered activity, mental activity aimed at developing a forensic technique meets certain requirements such as consistency, interrelated provisions, systematicity, a common goal and others. It is possible to achieve the result, i.e. build a practicable model for investigating crimes (a private forensic technique), when these requirements are treated as principles, i.e. axiomatic provisions. Their absolute nature helps develop the stable internal relations characterized by unity and non-contradictions. The authors attempt to evaluate the general component through the private one and prove the need to apply the fundamental provisions of the general crime investigation technique when developing a private forensic technique for investigating economic crimes. It is argued that tactical operations that represent the internal structure of the private forensic technique for investigating thefts and other acquisitive crimes are based on previously established principles.
