Community payback as an alternative to imprisonment: concept, terminology and definition

The article analyses the concept of forced labour in its correlation with the category of alternative to imprisonment. In the official documents there are a number of contradictions between the terminology and content of the legal regulations covering the concept of new penalty in the form of forced labour. At the same time, the lack of the official definition of "alternative to imprisonment" generates the disputes about classification of forced labour as alternative to imprisonment. The author suggests an original terminology and scientific definition of such criminal penalty as forced labour.
