This article goal is to review and to discuss modern scientific fields considering further poultry development. Poultry is the most dynamically developing, science-intensive and technologically equipped animal breeding branch. Pace of annual-average increase of poultry meat production for the last 50 years was 5%, pork meat - 3,1%, beef - 1,5%, lamb meat - 1,7%. The information on modern scientific literature is summarized and results of national and foreign scientists on innovative supply of egg and meat poultry are presented. Principal directions of industrial poultry development are efficiency and bio-safety. Grand challenges facing poultry branch demand strong analysis, optimal solutions search, international coordination and partnership. Particularly the article emphasizes science role in providing the progress in such branches as genetics, physiology, feeding, technologies, veterinary science and bio-safety, production processing, etc. Hereafter this role should increase, as far as complicated problem nature will require new approaches to their solution. This calls for wide attraction of fundamental research results, extension of applied and special investigations, active interdisciplinary work. Naturally, it is necessary to strengthen the support of scientific teams and poultry branch from the side of the state and business, to intensify the international cooperation.
