Priority directions of the development of the agro-food market in the Baikal region

The article shows that the agro-food complex of Russia is one of the important priorities of economic growth. The evaluation of the development of the agro-food complex under conditions of import substitution is given. The role of regional agro-food complexes in ensuring the country's food independence is defined. The agro-food market plays an important role in the structure of the agro-food complex. The article clarifies the economic content, the concept of the agro-food market as a dynamically developing system of economic relations in the process of exchange and consumption offood products, presents the structure of the agrofood market, specifies the specific features of its functioning. The estimation of the development state of the agro-food market in the Baikal region is given, the branch structure of the gross added value by kinds of economic activity is shown. The average per capita consumption of food products by the population of the Republic of Buryatia has been analyzed, the structure offood export and import has been presented, and directions for the development of the agro-food market in the region have been suggested.
