Priorities of the diversification of the structure of the regional tourist complex

The article gives a comprehensive analysis of tourism activities in the region. The estimation of the efficiency of regional tourist complex on the example of the Southern Federal District of Russia is given. The peculiarities of the regional specialization in areas of the tourist activity in the first place, such as historical and cultural tourism, event tourism, eco-tourism, health tourism, and others are displayed. The article substantiates the need for the diversification of the regional tourist complex as an important priority of the regional development strategy, identifies key priorities and directions of this diversification. The analysis of the development of different types of tourism in the territory of Federal Districts and in the regions of the Southern Federal District on the basis of expert evaluation method is made. The article reveals the impact of the diversification on the dynamics of the indicators that reflect the level of the sustainability of the regional tourist complex in the long term period, the level of revenues from the tourism gained from attracting new target groups of tourists, as well as the growth of the efficiency of use of the main objects of tourism infrastructure in the region...
