Priorities for small business development and development of measures for their implementation at the regional level

The article deals with small business, which is one of the most important sectors of the economy. This is due to the fact that small business creates conditions for accelerated economic growth and contributes to the saturation of local markets, as well as compensates for such costs of the market economy as unemployment and crises. To ensure sustainable socio-economic development of the regions, local governments direct their efforts to form their own production and financial base of the territories. This allows them to increase their level of economic independence. One of the most important tasks in this direction is to create conditions for the activation of small businesses. The article examines the trends in the development of small business in the Russian Federation over the past few years and identifies existing problems of small business development at the regional level. The main priorities of small business development in the near future are considered. The events that are currently being held to implement the identified priorities are also highlighted. This information is mostly taken from the strategy for the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Russian Federation until 2030. In conclusion, the article suggests measures for the development and support of small businesses at the regional level.
