The priorities of collaboration within the BRICS+ platform

The article reveals the essence of the phenomenon of the BRICS countries in a new way. An attempt has been made to identify the criteria and principles that guide the BRICS founding countries when accepting new countries into membership. Based on the analysis of the benefits and threats from joining BRICS+, the features of the alignment of forces from the expansion of the grouping at the expense of new countries and regions are revealed. It is concluded that the renewal of the expanded BRICS has led to the emergence of an additional forum for discussing global problems of the world economy but does not mean a radical transformation of the order created after World War II. The practical significance of the research results lies in highlighting the specific priorities of the BRICS. The study also makes it possible to understand what the BRICS may do to keep the advantages produced by globalization. The significance of the results for the theory of the world economy lies in augmenting the concept of the BRICS+ countries as a phenomenon which manifests itself in the form of creating and functioning alternative channels of interaction with various countries, bypassing international sanctions and other restrictions.
