Priorities of criminal policy in the sphere of national security

Introduction: the article presented in the Chief Editor’s Note studies a range of legal problems covered in the given mainstream issue. It is noted that the key column of the issue presents the comparative analyses of approaches of contemporary law scholars and lawmaking bodies to the problems arising in the law enforcement activities and connected with the national security. The evaluation of criminal policy mechanisms analyzed in the articles has been carried out from the standpoint of an integrated intersectoral approach. It is worth mentioning that the research efforts of scholars and representatives of law enforcement agencies, are aimed at solving conceptual and private tasks of increasing the level of Russia’s national security. We can make conclusion that the presented range of national security problems makes a small share of the research scope, which allows speaking about the topic’s relevance. It is pointed out that the authors’ results, conclusions and proposals confirm the fruitfulness of the academic work carried out by the Editorial Board and the authoring team.
