The aim of the study is to study the natural and anthropogenic complexes of rural territories as management objects in the context of the non-classical type of scientific rationality. The identified features of natural-anthropogenic complexes as management objects include self-organization of all subsystems and the system as a whole; active influence on the development and justification of management decisions by the subject of management - subjective position; communicative activity as the dominant type of system activity, which acts as the driving force of mutual changes in the subject and the control object; the need for an interdisciplinary approach in the development and justification of management decisions. Despite the significant advantages of managing natural-anthropogenic complexes in the context of the non-classical type of scientific rationality, there are serious limitations, the totality of which allows us to justify the need for further improvement of management approaches and tools. One of the most significant limitations is that, in fact, today the natural-anthropogenic complexes of rural territories have already transformed into self-developing environments, in which reflexive activity is the dominant type of activity. Accordingly, classical and non-classical management tools in this case become less effective, as they have a different methodological and methodological base.
