University environmental policy as a method for forming a national ecological consciousness

In the framework of the implementation of state environmental policy, the most important area is the formation of environmental awareness and environmental culture of the population. The university campus as a large economic facility and a significant form of the university community existence plays a key role in the process of greening the consciousness of future generations of specialists. The experience of the formation and implementation of the environmental policy of universities in various countries was studied, which is presented in the results of the annual international ranking of environmentally-oriented universities. The system of criteria for greening university campuses has been studied. On its basis, the main directions of greening the university campus have been developed, which affect not only the economic aspects of the operation of the university campus and its infrastructure, but also allow the university community to be widely involved in solving environmental problems and sustainable development.
