Juridates as participants of the criminal proceedings

The relevance of this study lies in the fact that some norms of Russian legislation on the procedural status of jurors need to be revised and clarified, due to the fact that they are not clearly stated, and in addition there is a discrepancy between them. In the article, the author examines in detail the status of jurors, touches on the problematic aspects of their participation in the criminal process and suggests ways to solve them. The author comes to the conclusion that the range of jury rights is limited and it is necessary to improve the legal regulation of the jury trial to improve the consideration of criminal cases, since this institution is an effective mechanism for protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.
